1. Eligibility

1.1 The competition is open to students aged 13–30 years who are currently enrolled in a school, college, or university.
1.2 Parental/guardian consent is required for participants under the age of 18.
1.3 The competition is open to residents of South Africa only.
1.4 Employees of Apple Cafe and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.

2. Competition Theme and Entry Guidelines

2.1 The artwork submitted must align with the theme: “Innovation and Creativity” or “The Future is Bright”.
2.2 All artwork must be original, created by the participant, and not infringe on any third-party copyrights or intellectual property.
2.3 Acceptable submission formats include:

• File types: JPEG, PNG, or PDF
• Maximum file size: 5MB

2.4 Each participant may submit only one entry.
2.5 Submissions must be uploaded via the competition website form before the deadline: 17 January 2025.

3. Submission Deadline

3.1 Entries must be received no later than 17 January 2025.
3.2 Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

4. Judging and Winner Selection

4.1 All eligible entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel appointed by Apple Cafe.
4.2 Artwork will be judged based on the following criteria:

• Creativity and originality
• Relevance to the theme
• Technical skill and execution

4.3 The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

5. Prizes

5.1 The winning artwork will be printed on custom mouse pads distributed with every MacBook purchase as part of our Back to School Promotion in January and February 2024.
5.2 The winner will receive:

• Recognition of their artwork and name in promotional materials.
• An iPad Pro.

5.3 No cash alternatives or substitutions for the prize will be offered.

6. Use of Artwork and Copyright

6.1 By entering the competition, participants agree that Apple Cafe has the right to use, reproduce, modify, and display the submitted artwork for promotional purposes, including but not limited to:

• Social media and website content
• Marketing campaigns
• Printing the artwork on mouse pads for the Back to School Promotion

6.2 The participant retains ownership of the original artwork but grants Apple Cafe a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the artwork as described above.
6.3 Credit will be given to the artist wherever the artwork is displayed.

7. Notification of Winner

7.1 The winner will be notified via email or phone by 22 January 2025.
7.2 If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of the announcement, a new winner may be selected.

8. Data Privacy

8.1 Personal information collected as part of the competition will be handled in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
8.2 Participant data will be used solely for the purpose of administering the competition and contacting the winner.
8.3 No participant information will be shared with third parties without consent.

9. General

9.1 Apple Cafe reserves the right to amend or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice.
9.2 Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
